Marsha Graham is the driving force behind several blogs, among them AnotherBoomerBlog. She is a good friend to DeafInPrison.com and we would be lost without her support. When she’s not blogging, she’s a committed activist and attorney.

I breathe, drive, take photographs, and write – not necessarily in that order.

  2. Thank you for this post. I am uncertain whether this is a deliverable reply address. Please confirm receipt. I live an hour from Bridgewater MA. I am the sister of a severely disabled (including total blindness) prisoner. I am in touch with many MA prisoners, including the deaf & hard of hearing. One elderly man I know well has been refused a repair of his hearing aids after giving them to the Health Services Unit after waiting three years. This 82 year old man, John Hanlon has enlisted the help of lawyers, judges, disability organizations, after corresponding with his nurses, wardens, deputies, guards, MA Dept for the Deaf & Hard of Hearing. The DOC ‘grievance’ officer hold told Mr. Hanlon, in writing, not to file any more grievances and that if he does, his correspondence will not be answered! I know of other MA folks ‘inside’ who are deaf.

This symposium sounds great, however, the MA DOC has 4 joints in Bridgewater and uses BSU students as intern and volunteers. Several professors are on friendly terms with the DOC which worries me. Any thoughts? Thank you. Susan Mortimer To: susanmmortimer@hotmail.com
